Muck Run

Thanks to everyone who signed up and participated in the 2019 Muck Run. The event saw over 150 entrants participate in our second Muck Run. The run brought them through a challenging & interesting course in the Furry Glen, Phoenix Park & we thank the OPW for the use of this area.

The Fundraising & Social Committee would like to thank ALL who helped (too many to mention) with the set up/clean up, stewarding, registration, pre- run warm up, first aid and back in the club.  Some particular thanks goes to Brigid Corrigan. Brigid is the brains behind this particular run & without her it wouldn't be possible.

The first boy & girl home in the races were:

  • 1km run - Finn Fitzsimons & Amber Whelan

  • 3km run - Brian Curran & Goda Buivydyte

We can't run events like this without lots of volunteers, we are putting together a panel of volunteers (for stewarding etc), if you could spare a few hours once or twice a year please email your details to plunkettssocial@gmail.com.

All pics to follow on Facebook later in the week.

Leopardstown Partnership

Starting in September 2019, we are happy to partner with Leopardstown Racecourse on an ongoing basis for a ticketing/fundraising initiative. The idea is that several times per year our members will be offered discounted tickets for their Family Racing Days using a unique promo code and on top of the discount to members, Leopardstown will also offer a rebate directly back to the club.

In particular, next September 14th Leopardstown will host Day One of Longines Irish Champions Weekend which is the biggest day of flat racing in Ireland in the year. This obviously falls on the same day as the All-Ireland Final replay and he match will be shown on all TV’s and big screens around the track and will provide a great atmosphere for those who cannot get tickets. This will be a huge day of world class racing, brilliant entertainment and a dedicated Family Zone open to all. Family tickets are €60 and admits two adults and any number of children under 18 but with this offer tickets will cost just €50 and an additional €5 will go directly to the club. To take advantage of this offer visit this page http://bit.ly/ICWFamilyTicket for Longines Irish Champions Weekend Day One and then enter the club’s promo code when prompted. The promo code is PLUNKETTS19.

This will be the start of an ongoing, year-wide initiative and the club will also receive other benefits over time.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others

On Saturday last (Aug 31st) Plunketts G4M&O played in the annual Erin’s Isle charity blitz. The team this year had a lot of changes with some of the players being involved in their first or second ever blitz. After 4 enjoyable (10 aside) games versus Cortown & Walterstown from Co Meath followed by two games against St Maurs & O’Dwyers from Dublin some of the girls still had enough energy to complete the Muck Run.
