Senior Camogie Win Leinster League Final

I am sure at this point everyone is aware of the fantastic achievement that our Senior A Camogie team pulled off on Sunday in Abbottstown, winning the Leinster League Div 2 final in their first year entering the competition. Two goals from Ella Carr and one each from Emer McCarney & Aoife Bugler sealed the victory. Player of the Match went to Gaby Couch for her efforts.

Congrats to Barbara and her team and all the girls involved with the team. They are off to the best possible start this year, winning in all competition's they're involved with. After a busy few weeks of action, they get a well earned break this week! Well done girls!

The Junior A and B teams continued their good form in the league with both teams now unbeaten in their first three starts in Div 5 & 7 respectively. This will give the lads some confidence heading into Championship who are both competing in tough draws on 14th April.

Ladies Football

Our Minor A footballers had a great win over Skerries on Saturday to leave themselves heading Div 3 with maximum points. After securing their first points of the season last weekend, our Minor B footballers were defeated by Clontarf.

Commiserations to our u16 Dublin star Aimee McKeon who lined out for Dublin at centre back yesterday but were beaten by Meath in the Leinster Championship. Hopefully our two u14 Dublin players Aibhe Ni Maolagain and Amber McCluskey will have better luck next saturday

Juvenile Round Up

A weekend of mixed fortune for our juvenile teams, but watching their games you can see the hard work the lads are putting in at training is really paying off.

Our three under 9 teams played very competitive games against strong Ballymun Kickhams teams. Each of our teams had some difficult periods their games, but Some of our players rose to the challenge.

Our two under 10 teams played Round Towers (Lusk) with displays of individual brilliance all over the pitch. Both our teams worked well together to get their scores delivering two convincing wins against tough opposition.

Our three under 11 teams played Ballyboden St Endas. We were very competitive in two of the games, winning one of these, Ballyboden won two out of the three games. Overall there was some good football played against a tough opposition.

Our under 12 teams had a similar weekend starting with a victory against Fingallians on Friday, followed by two tough games against St Jude’s and Good Counsel.

Our under 16 hurlers were away to Naomh Olafs this weekend. Another win coming from a good team performance with a lot of support play.

Girls Feile

The pre match smiles were ultimately replaced by tears as our Feile team were narrowly defeated in their final group game.

Our girls defeated Naomh Olaf in an exciting opening match. Ten minutes later they were back in action but came up short against a strong St Jude’s team. That teed up a titanic battle against Skerries in the final group game. We went behind in the first half but had the determination & team spirit to claw our way back into it in the second half. This one could have gone either way but Skerries survived some goal mouth scrambles to get through on the narrowest of margins.

Very proud our of girls performances today. Special mention also to our supporters who cheered the team on and to our hosts St Anne's GAA. Well done to all involved.
