Sat, 01 Sep 2018
Thanks to everyone who attended the Healthy Club launch earlier today.  It was great to see people of all ages from the local community enjoy the launch.

Thanks to Lynne Dalton from Glenville Nutrition who gave a healthy nutrition talk first followed by a practical demonstration aided by members of the audience.

Here are the 7 eating habits of healthier families:

1. Watch for hidden sugar - learn to read food lablels
2. Re-fuel regularly - eat about every 4 hours
3. Have well balanced meals - 1/4 of your plate and 1/4 complex carbs
4. Increase your veggies - aim for 1/2 plate for your lunch and dinner
5. Include healthy fats - in moderation, especially fish
6. Eat the correct portion size - use a smaller plate
7. Use the 80:20 rule - you don't have to be perfect all the time!

Rome wasn't built in a day - remember one step at a time!! Start today with your new habit!!

Lynne gave a practical demonstration on making hummus and chocolate protein balls.
