Darkenss into Light #DIL2018 - thank you!
Sat, 12 May 2018
A big thank you to all the Plunketts members and people from the local community who took part in the Darkness into Light event #DIL2018 in the Phoenix Park earlier this Saturday morning. As a result of our involvement this year, we have raised over €2,500 for Pieta House. This is our fourth year supporting this event.

The morning itself was beautiful and calm, and it was uplifting to be part of such an event at day break. Afterwards, all sections of the club membership were present in the Clubhouse for breakfast.  It was a real community event. Thank you for supporting the event.

Special thanks to the following businesses:
- Seamus Etherson, Ethersons Butchers Cabra  for supplying sausages and bacon;
- John Cantwell and all the local staff in Mace, Kinvara Park for pastries, bread, milk juice and more bacon; and
- Kevin Odgers in the newly opened The Planted Bean on Baggot road for the delicious cinnamon rolls;

I would ask you to support these businesses by choosing to #ShopLocal

Thanks too to Mary McManus, Deirdre McDonaldLynda Egan, Thomas & Niamh Lundon, Trish Maher and Martina Carroll for baking items for the breakfast. Thanks also to Keelings in Smithfield Market for subsidising the cost of our fruit.

Special mention to Joan Voakes who prepared the Clubhouse the night before and cooking breakfast items.

Thanks too to the U/11 mentors - David McGeown, Jimmy Collins, Derek Hughes, Keith Merton, & Conor McCague and Trish Maher, our Healthy Club Officer for their cooking skills and for the smooth running of the event on Saturday morning.

Keep an eye out for more Health & Wellbeing team initiatives to promote a positive mental health message within the Club and in the wider Community. We would like to draw your attention to the Pieta House - Know the Signs Campaign

See you all again next year
