Mace, Kinvara Park to partner with Aoife Bugler & Plunketts for the SVP Christmas Hamper Appeal
Sun, 26 Nov 2017

Message from Aoife Bugler - My Dad, Pat Bugler, has been involved in organising Christmas Hampers for St. Vincent de Paul for the past number of years. As this was something very close to his heart, our family would like this to continue, in order to help the less fortunate this Christmas. Therefore, we are appealing to all Plunketts members to support our St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Appeal.

St. Vincent de Paul is a voluntary organisation working with the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our society. We are aiming to make Christmas a better time for some of these families by donating hampers.

Every little helps and will go a long way to making Christmas better for those less well off in our society.

Regards,
Aoife Bugler

Option to order your hamper in Mace, Kinvara Park

Since we posted the above message on Facebook, long time Club supporter and sponsor, John Cantwell, from Mace in Kinvara Park has been in touch.  Members can order and pay for the Christmas Hamper for SVP directly from John or any member of staff in Mace.  Each hamper will contain the standard list of food items from the SVP guidelines and will also cost approximately €50.00 – If you wish Mace will make up the individual hampers and arrange to hand them over to Aoife on your behalf.

Thank you John for supporting Aoife in this great initiative.

The appeal will work as follows:

  • Members can pledge to donate a hamper by confirming their intention to do so by contacting Aoife on 0872988224 or aoifebugler@hotmail.com

  • Alternatively, members can order their hamper from Mace in Kinvara Park.

  • A list of items for the hamper is available on the SVP website: https://svp.ie/Appeal-2017/Food-Appeal/Food-Appeal-guidelines.aspx

  • Boxes for the hampers will be available for collection in the club or alternatively, items can be left in the club, where the hampers will be made up.

  • Final date for pledges to donate hampers is 13th December 2017 and all items must be purchased and donated by 14th December 2017, following which hampers will be delivered to St. Vincent de Paul on 15th December 2017.

  • Hampers can be donated by individuals, families syndicates, teams, sections etc. This is an ideal opportunity for groups of friends to pool their funds together to make up a hamper.
