Congratulations to Seán McGuinness & the Dublin U21 Footballers on their Leinster Championship Quarter Final victory over Louth (after extra-time) on Saturday.

U21S COME STRONG IN EXTRA-TIME

A win is a win as Dublin got off to a nervy defence of their Leinster U21 football title at St Brigids Park, Dowdallshill, Dundalk on Saturday afternoon,
The will face the winners of Carlow v Kilkenny in the provincial semi-final after digging out a victory over Louth in extra-time.
The young Dubs did it the hard way as they kicked 21 wides and had Darragh Nelson straight red-carded seven minutes into the second half of normal time.
Dublin led 1-2 to 0-4 at half-time in normal time with Dean Rock palming the ball to the net in the fifth minute. However, the Dubs shot nine wides in the opening 30 minutes.
Soon after the dismissal of Nelson Louth the game looked like it was turning the way of Louth with Jim McEneaney grabbing a fine goal in the 41st minute.
With eight minutes of normal time remaining the hosts led 1-6 to 1-3 But Dublin responded with points from Gavin McIntyre and Johnny Cooper. But Barry O Hehir fired Louth back into a two point lead with only a minute left.
Rock cut it to the minimun with a point from play and in injury-time Cooper kicked an excellent equaliser - 1-7 each.
Points from from Gary Sweeney and Rock edged Dublin 1-9 to 1-7 clear by half-time in extra-time with David Quinn (Lucan) making a telling contribution following his introduction.
Into the second period of extra-time Dubiln shot five unanswered points, three from Quinn, plus one each from Rock and McIntyre to give them a winning advantage.
